Current Positions

Position Title:	Plate Bars and Structural’s Business Unit Manager
Location:	Edmonton, AB
Reports to:	Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Duties/Responsibilities:     

• Develops and implements short and long term plans that identify and achieve balanced scorecard objectives, target markets, gross profit and market share objectives, growth and profitability in the plate, bars and structural’s markets. Prepare annual sales forecast that corresponds with this plan.
• Grows market share in the plate, bars and structural’s market while maintaining strong gross margins and profitability. Identifies opportunities and ensures we successfully attract the business.
• Develops an organization capable of achieving personal and business unit goals.
• Leads and motivates plate, bars and structural’s sales team to improved performances. Ensures team is kept informed of all developments and that sales meetings are held on a regular basis. Seeks input from the team on opportunities to grow plate, bars and structural’s market.
• Establishes a sales call plan that will meet targeted growth expectations.
• Visits customers at important or difficult accounts on a regular basis to develop strong relationships and to assist in determining how Wilkinson can add value to both organizations. Participates in coaching calls with sales force to ensure consistent sales methodology is practiced across all regions.
• Ensures that purchasers are fully informed of sales forecasts and any changes that may affect plate, bar and structural’s purchasing.
• Ensures that all employees in the business unit have proper goals set and that annual reviews and development plans are created for all employees in the business unit. Ensure that all employees receive proper training to contribute successfully to the growth of the business.
• Maintains detailed knowledge of all Super Key and Key accounts (existing and potential).
• Maintains close awareness of market pricing and communicates the information to the plate, bars and structural’s sales force.
• Reviews sales progress in each province and initiates corrective actions when required.
• Maintains scorecard results for business unit.
• Submits a monthly sales report to the Vice President Sales and Marketing.
• Other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications:  

• Minimum 7-10 years progressive experience in Sales Management.
• Proven track record in sales & marketing, employee development and goal achievement.
• Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is essential.
• Willingness to travel to various locations and customers as required.

Position Title:	Plant Supervisor
Location:	Vancouver, BC
Reports to:	Vancouver/Victoria Plant Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:     

• Ensures safe, productive work environment.
• Responsible for day to day supervision within the Vancouver plant.
• Delegates and co-ordinates work within the plant to ensure uninterrupted production flow of materials, product quality and quantity within established budgetary costs and ISO standards.
• Manages employees within the guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement.
• Maintains good relations between plant, office and union personnel.
• Meets regularly with the plant personnel to explain and discuss objectives and to receive feedback on better operating practices.
• Ensures all employees are provided with adequate training and follow up.
• Motivates and provides support to employees to ensure best effort is put forth.
• Manages employees’ schedules, vacations, and absences.
• Other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications:  

• Familiarity with metal service industry.
• Understanding of machine capabilities and ability to estimate run times.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities.

• Order selecting steel and metal requirements and packing orders;
• Loading and unloading trucks and couriers;
• Operating overhead cranes and forklifts;
• Operating Saws, Burners (Plasma/Oxyfuel), and Laser machines;
• Other duties as required/assigned;

Qualifications:  

• Physically fit and capable to lift and direct heavy products;
• Basic math skills;
• Commitment to attend work on a regular and reliable basis;
